The fact that the company celebrates 137 years of business this year speaks for itself. It all started with Janos Kotanyi, who came to Vienna from Hungary, and became the exclusive supplier of the imperial court, thanks to the exceptional quality of the peppers.
Already before the WWII, Kotanyi had branches in Paris, New York and London, and a completely ruined post-war business did not discourage anyone but strengthened the ambition to associate the name KOTANYI with the best flavors from around the world today.
Today, KOTANYI operates in over 20 countries where it has its sister companies or distributors, so the KOTANYI grinder can be found from Europe to China and Brazil.
KOTANYI spices are produced in Austria, in Wolkersdorf, which is 20 km from Vienna, where the company is headquartered.
